We mentioned in our description on iTunes that you could use GPS Kit while golfing to see the distance to the pin so we thought we’d actually try it out.

Of course, as with other GPS units you either have to have the course pre-programmed or else walk the course once to mark each flag before it can tell you anything. So, we invested in a cart and made a run out to the flag before teeing off each time.

The results were awesome! The yardage was right on with what was marked for each hole. We were pleasantly surprised, knowing the shortcomings of the GPS accuracy as well as anyone.

Posting my track might expose my golf incompetencies so I’ll post Brett’s instead! (pictured left) If you’re wondering about the number of holes, it is the Provo Reserve at East Bay executive course, which they are getting ready to tear down so there are only six holes.

The top picture is yours truly with Squaw Peak (mentioned in former post) in the background. You can see Brett measuring his putt in the background. Spencer, being the best golfer of us all, actually marked the front and back of each green for next time.

In the end, we all agreed that GPS Kit could be made a lot more golf-friendly. We’ll have to see what we can do...
